The US has launched an antitrust investigation into five major news networks.

Last month, Donald Trump banned three "fake news" news outlets CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House.

After access was pulled, the five major television networks, namely ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and Fox News, briefly suspended pool coverage for the President.

Now, the US Justice Department (DoJ) has launched an investigation into the outlets to determine if they violated antitrust laws, as first reported by The New York Times.
